What makes Lager Moretti special?
Lager Moretti is a traditional lager-style beer first brewed in 1859 in Udine, in northeastern Italy. Pale golden in colour, it offers a smooth, well-balanced taste with subtle malt notes and a moderate bitterness. With an alcohol content of around 4.6%, it’s the kind of beer you can enjoy anytime.
It’s a bottom-fermented beer, meaning it’s brewed at lower temperatures over a longer period. The result? A clean, refreshing body that’s easy to drink.
Why did we add it to our taps?
At Temple Bar Bcn, we always aim to serve quality and authenticity. Lager Moretti isn’t just a classic lager – it’s a beer that combines Italian brewing tradition with top-notch craftsmanship. We love its versatility: it pairs brilliantly with our smashburgers, loaded fries, chicken wings, nachos, and everything else that makes our food menu stand out.
We also wanted to offer a lager with character, yet smooth enough for both craft beer newcomers and seasoned drinkers alike.
Fun facts about Moretti beer
It was first brewed by Luigi Moretti, an Italian entrepreneur who founded the Fabbrica di Birra Luigi Moretti in 1859.
Its iconic logo – the man with the moustache drinking beer – is recognised around the world as a symbol of tradition.
Today, Birra Moretti is part of the Heineken group, but the recipe remains true to its roots.
You can now find Lager Moretti on tap at our bar. Come down to Temple Bar Bcn and try it ice-cold – just the way it should be. Cheers!
